1. Cluster'12 was a great party! Photos at Cluster'12 will be coming soon to remember the good time. Below was Program Co-Chair Prof. Yuzhong Sun reporting on the organization of Cluster'12.
2. Insightful tutorials are proceeding on Sept 24 at BICC with the free rich buffet at noon at BCGH!
3. Don't miss Cool Reception co-located with Poster Session on Evening Sept. 25, 2012, Ballroom #307 at BICC, enjoying the delicate food as follows in Chinese and English:
4.Annoucement of registration schedule, registration/conference/hotel/lunch locations, and, English and Chinese words for taxi drivers as shown below. It is good news that Cluster'12 provides Lunch Buffet to all Cluster 2012 Registered Attendeesfrom Sept 24th to Sept 28th, 2012. The local Chinese music show would make the banquet wonderful. Cluster'12 registration is opened due to Sept 28, 2012.
5. Congratulated Reza Farivar at University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, Ziming Zhong at University College Dublin, Ireland, and Raghunath Rajachandrasekar at the Ohio State University on being awarded to Student Travel Grants provided by IEEE Cluster'12 TPC.
6.Announcement of Panel: Challenges and Issues of Scaling both High Throughput and High Performance Computing in Clusters withPanel Chair: Prof. Xiaodong Zhang, The Ohio State University, USA, and, Panelists: Dr. Philip Carns, Argonne National Labs, USA, Prof. Lixin Gao, University of Massachusetts, Amherst, USA, Prof. D. 9. Announcement of the keynote title of Franck Cappello, Co-Director of the INRIA-Illinois Joint Laboratory on PetaScale Computing, "CHECKPOINTING for Extreme Scale Systems: from Loser to CHAMPION", for Reliability and Availability challenges in systems without boundaries like the BLUE SKY wherein you and I breathe.
10. Announcement of the keynote title of Dr. Wen-Hann Wang, vice president of Intel Research Labs, "Challenges and Opportunities for "big data"--A Platform Perspective".
11. IEEE Cluster conference series (i.e. Cluster'12) definitively adhere to the famous anonymous review rule with sincere respect to reviewers' independences. The final acceptance determinations were made by the PC chair meeting based on professional and insightful reviews which are the precious instructions for contributors' future works.
12. In the procedure of emailing notifications, Cluster'12 sent notifications to all co-authors of a paper if their email addresses were submitted. Please contact with other co-authors of a paper if one couldn't receive notification emails since our notification emails might be taken as spams by some affiliations' official email services. China Visa (only for international contributors), registration payment and oral presentation become preconditions for accepted papers eventually being published in the two proceedings of IEEE Clusters and workshops respectively. Details can be found in the VISA Guide and Author Guide of Cluster'12.
IEEE International Conference on Cluster Computing 2012 (Cluster 2012) is the premier conference on all aspects of cluster computing for computational science. Cluster 2012 is hosted Beijing, China, one of the leading technology cities in China. Attendees will have access to the latest developments in cluster computing technologies and practices. Join the cluster computing community, and discuss new directions, opportunities, and ideas that will influence the future of cluster computing. The conference history can be reachable at http://www.clustercomp.org including the series of Cluster conferences from 1999-2011.
Scope:
Cluster 2012 welcomes original unpublished paper submissions from researchers in academia, industry, and government, describing innovative research in the field of cluster and high-performance computing.
Major topics of interest include, but are not limited to:
Systems Design and Configuration
Tools, Systems Software, and Middleware
Algorithms, Applications and Performance
Storage and File Systems
This year's conference will also include Poster, Panel, Workshop, and Tutorial sessions for face-to-face interactions with the technology leaders in cluster computing. Institute of Computing Technology (ICT), CAS, China, hosts with the great honor the Cluster 2012 in Beijing. ICT found the Dawning Company which built the TOP 3 machine at TOP500 last year with collaboration with ICT. ICT was remarked by its multicore CPU product, Loongson.
Hosted by Key Laboratory of Computer System and Architecture
Institute of Computing Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences
